QuantAzur seminar of Damian Markham on « Towards useful quantum computation »

vendredi 22 mars 2024

In the context of QuantAzur activities, we announce the seminar « Towards useful quantum computation » of Damian Markham, DR CNRS and responsible for the Quantum Information team in LIP6, Sorbonne Université.

The seminar will take place on Friday the 22nd of March at 10.15 in the Amphithéâtre - Bâtiment Kahn, Inria Sophia Antipolis – Méditerranée.

Abstract :

In this talk we will discuss the winding path towards useful quantum computation. We will present some recent results on sampling and other 'NISQ' (noisy
intermediate scale quantum) approaches to quantum computing, as well as some of the obstacles to them reaching useful status. We will discuss some of the steps needed to reach large scale fault tolerant quantum computing and some of the hopes of applications there also.
